HooDoo Who Don't

Well As a fun thing I thought it would be fun to work for Hoodoo Recreation for the summer of 2013.

I would be a campground host in the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie Forest. sounds like fun right.

I got my package and was assigned to Douglas fir campground in the north on the nooksack river. it was perfect for my 36 ft motorhome and I was didligent to collect fees and payments.

Then I was told by my manager that I was to be moved to Silver fir and a couple was taking douglas fir because douglas also handles Excellisor Group camp. so I siad ok, What the heck one campground is good as the other. Right.

On May 15th, I Loaded up my stuff and was told to move into site #1 by the Hoodoo supervisor,, so I drive the extra 13 miles and pulled into the site, at first I noticed the site had not been cleared. but I entered anyeway, the gate was broken and hard to open, then the road was full of limbs I kept gwetting out to move. I made the turn and went to site #1 which made no sense to me but it was my first year and I was doing as I was told.

But Site #1 is a group site. Large site, so I called and was told to pull into the first site on the property.

In the process of the confusion my RV received over $9,000.00 in damage including the roof.  I was following directions from my imediate manager and as a result my RV was damaged. 

I contacted The Manager he said contact the President of Hoodoo so I did, and here is what he told me

Dear John Worley,

 

I am sorry to hear that you damaged your motorhome when moving into a site. I know this things can be costly and frustrating, and that is unfortunate. However, Hoodoo cannot be held responsible for these damages, when you were operating your own vehicle under your own free will and choice. We do appreciate that you were trying to move into a site to begin you camp host assignment, but leaning trees are common place inside campgrounds and are visible. I do hope you are able to get your motorhome repaired, but Hoodoo will not be covering any of your costs.

 

Please accept this decision as final, I have conversed with Chuck Shepard and Kaly Harward and we are all in agreement. This week is orientation, and we will have no time to discuss this matter at the training meetings. I hope that you will be able to move forward and fulfill your assignment and enjoy the summer at Silver Fir. If not, please let us know right away so we can fill that position.

Seems to me all Hoodoo whats is a free line of people who for nothing.  they take no responsibility for what their managers tell the host.

I contacted the Ranger station and they said they would look into the situation and was at least willing to discuss help with the repairs..

I love this country, I use the National Foreszxt Campgrounds and have for years. I support our forest.  Hoodoo  is a Not so Do. when it come to supporting their employees.

I promised I would do the job this year, I will be there as a host.  and do my best. BUT IF YOU GO TO NATIONAL FOREST AND SEE A HOODOO TRUCK OR IN WASHINGTON OR OREGON THAT IS HOSTED BY HOODOO. JUST REMEMBER IF YOUR RV IS DAMAGED IN ANY WAY. YOUR ON YOUR OWN. EVEN IF IT IS CAUSED BY THEM.
