Watch out for Bernia.. if you sew quilt or anything stay away from

So I wrote to Bernia because my wifes quilting nightmares have been aweful. the mechine has been in and out of the shop for years, and the quiltmotion software has been a nightmare.  I write them pleading for help. and you will see their reply. sorry not our fault. basically..

do not fall into bernia trap  ..  if your wife sews or quilts. they are not customer oriented

My Wife owns a Bernia 820, which she uses on the Bernia Quilting frame and Creative Touch software. She has had to have it in the shop more than she has used it. it now sets and jsut collects dust because she has had to set and remove threads on quilts she has made over and over. We purchased the who set up from quality Sewing and they have been great with support. but she needs a quilting machine not a boat anchor. Is there any way we can work out a deal with bernia to get a decent trade in value for this set up. We spoke with the representative of Bernia at Quality Sewing and He (Jim) said the Q20 was on sale, for 9,000.00 but they could not go any lower so our trade in would be worthless. this set up cost us 8600.00 and that was with out the pad, the up grade to the new sofware cost 120.00 so we have 8700.00 in this anchor and it has been in and out fo the shop more than it has been in use. Can Bernia provide great customer service bu giving her a better trade in value so she can get a quilting machine she can actually use.

Thank you for your email.  We are very sorry to hear of your wife's disappointment in her B820.   We would be happy to work with you dealer to assist them in addressing any existing issues she might be having with the machine.  As the wholesale importer/distributor of BERNINA sewing machine and related accessories in the US, our distribution is exclusively through independently owned and operated BERNINA dealers who each set their own policies, practices and procedures.  We are unable to sell directly to our consumers, quote pricing, accept trades or broker discounts or deals with consumers.  Trade in policies and pricing are determined by the dealer.  We certainly understand your asking, but we are unable to accommodate your request for a better trade in value than the dealer has offered.
