Washingtons Peninsula

Hello My Friends;

It was the weekend of Memorial Day, It seemed Saturday would be a great time to visit the peninsula of Washington, the Beautiful homes and people we had visited before at Port Gamble, Port Townsend, Oak Harbor, and Kingston.

It was a beautiful day to just enjoy the land, and each others company,  We started in Edmonds and after a 1 hour wait we boarded the ferry and what a trip, sun shinning and just a great day.

As we arrived in Kingston we noticed a few changes since our last visit, Kingston Lumber a great place to stop and catch the local flavor, friendly people, but closed what a deep sigh that was, as we arrived in Port Gamble

not much has changed, we thought, a few more shops, but the old country store was still open, As we walked inside we noticed the old country store and friendly people had been moved out, now it was yuppie center, wines everywhere and 12.00 hamburgers.  YES, 12.00 for a piece of bread, small piece of meat and lettace, tomato,  12.00. why?? well they changed the name to organic. the cheapest way to grow food, and raise animals, because they do not use fertilizer or have to pay for extra feed, Grass is free.  It's like Diesel fuel, the cheapest formala of fuel and the highest priced.  We refused to pay 12.00 for one hamburger, so we left and went to the barbeque place across the street and paid less for for great food.

We then drove up to Port Townsend, I do love the kind of village atmosphere there, people are not trying to be something they aren't just a smile and smile life.   We boarded the ferry and landed on Whidbey Island, on to Oak Harbor, and to the Navel Base. to celebrate the great sacrifice our military makes every day.  living in under poverty conditions, making due. Yea, I know as a disabled veteran they get free food, free housing, BUT, they live in the same world we do, they have families who shop for food, wear cloths, and live in houses none of which is free.

THANK YOU VETERANS AND THOSE WHO SERVE TO KEEP THIS COUNTRY FREE , NO MATTER HOW MANY TIME POLITICIANS TRY AND TAKE THOSE FREEDOMS AWAY.

Well on to deception pass

and then through La Conner, and home  Was a great day of discovery. some old things passed away not sure they will return, some things are just better.
